Writers Rejoice! Now, What Just Happened? Plus: October Funding, A Quintet of Fests; Story Ave + Savior Complex Premieres; Fall Job Openings
Happy Thursday, friends, and congratulations to all the writers in the room. It’s been a week of celebrations — and post mortems. Let’s break it down:
What’s in the deal: WGA negotiator and showrunner Adam Conover made the podcast rounds to discuss the fine print with The Town’s Matt Belloni and The Ankler’s Sean McNulty.
How it went down: Want in on the rooms where it happened? Read Variety’s “Inside Story” on the brokers’ final machinations.
Why it took so long: The co-hosts of Across The Movie Aisle examine this question — and the impact of recent milestones like Barrymore-Gate.
Where we go from here: “What’s Next On The Labor Front…? Quite A Lot, Actually.” A great read from Deadline heading into talks between SAG-AFTRA and the studios on Monday.
It’s not over yet — we’ve loved seeing your photos back on the picket lines with the actors. Thank you to everyone who sent us their favorite takes.
Now let’s dive into your work this week!
